I have thought endlessly of the Phantom outside of the roleplaying game, and for lack of better activities that I could be immersed in right now, I'm giving away a few spoilers.

Sometimes I think he may be a sort of cliche. Months from now (as it is December in the story), the weather will warm and he may not choose to have so many layers. I picture him coatless with the sleeves of his white shirt rolled to his elbows. Similar to the photos I've seen of depressed homeless women in Japan, a barrage of puffy white and pink scars, each the length of a razor blade give or take, stretch across his forearms. He's lean but not weak, he's tall and looming, kind of like Akira, but the black hair that droops down his shoulders is not nearly as well kept or smooth. I suppose smooth, but more flyaways, and probably not as clean. I don't know if anybody speculated (probably not, since black is not nearly as strange as blue or red), but very dark brown roots invade his part. He'll probably retouch enough for no one to realize that his hair isn't jet black, but he could once slip. (I'm still not sure.)

Not quite as related, Mariam would find him to be very threatening looking, also considering his disposition and stance during their later encounters, in her fear for Lily's safety. Keep in mind that the Phantom clearly does not have affection for Mariam like he does for Lily, if any exists at all. He liked her once. Then she started interfering.
