HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY, AKIRA.
Damn, you're old. Every year you're a little different, a little more interesting, even. You are my second favorite character I have ever "made", although you are the special exception to that. After all these years, because of that, I still feel like you kind of have a mind of your own. For comedy purposes, it's genius, but I feel a little bad that eventually there will be an entire movie about you trying to commit suicide. I want you to eventually just be happy. Maybe when Crystallina moves out. That's a looooong time from now, but it's still a light at the end of a tunnel.

I still wait for you in my dreams. :)
I have been slowly inching along with my plans. The reading I have to do for class and the two tests coming up one day after the other definitely affect what I have time for... when things like that are done, afterwards all I want to do is lay around, drink some Earl Grey, and watch my special show or Comedy Central. But I'm glad knowing that being in need of a little goof-off time is all that's keeping me from moving faster and not a dry well.

First I must say that the site looks really cool so far, but I'm not going to give you any previews because I want it to be a surprise! But the promotional poster ended up working out, the colors really fleshed out the idea, and the images that would look good in the site's banner (some of which I already had in stock but never showed anyone), I could just imagine and when I sketched them in, I knew it was going to look totally epic when I finished. XD Started the profile images... I'm willing to share two of those, mainly because me and my hubby look so fine together:




I've found that (as usual) it's the No Doubt songs that inspire me to draw. Marry Me and Doormat are making me think about Crystal Palace 4... I have this recurring image of Crystallina stepping into Cosmo's car for the first time and this semi-fish eye view of him in the driver's seat as she disgustedly surveys her surroundings. Poor Cosmo feels like a predator in his own territory.

At the moment, I'm hooked on 4 in the Morning by Gwen Stefani, because it reminds me of Akira and I's extremely faded and unhealthy relationship. I mean, we were at least friends in the Adventures days. We had our tiffs, but nowadays it's like he's a zombie and he tries to fix his problems by going to anything (including more cocktails than appropriate, and his cousin) but me. I know by the second half of CP4, I wanted to finally have my character Jennifer express that she really is upset about their marriage and eventually have a time in the franchise when we are back to being a satisfied couple. At least for a while. Anyway, I just think the song is sweet and catchy and I can imagine it with a montage of images from our past (maybe the movie where part of it is about how we met) and how sucky things are now, like, how Kate says, we sleep noticably far apart from each other.

Oh, the Adventures in Wonderland rpgs. Well I'm having way too much fun making more icons and becoming more infatuated with Hare and Hatter as a romantic couple. My journal for Hare was posted in a recent entry... We started the rpg and though it's running a bit slowly, I know eventually it will pick up and we have lots of amusing ideas. We both agreed it ought to be Hatter x Hare so I'm happy. They are horrendously despicably adorableeeee, ahhhhhhh.

Well, it's probably time to wrap it up. I have to go to bloody work. I'll post a birthday picture for Akira later.
