I'm posting so often lately, certainly more than my two-person friends list at the moment xDDD, but uh, one more thing. Cannot stop listening to this song. It's like Lily's second theme song, or getting there.

The way it starts, I can picture her zoning out in various situations: at dinner while her parents make kissy faces at each other, Mariam's "taller, paler shadow" during rehearsal while the role she wanted gets practiced right in front of her, sitting with a book outside the theater, those scenes. Also, I think the lyrics address her very inward response to dramatic events and lack of control. She is always holding onto a facade of control, and I think she does believe that love can fix and save. It also reminds me of a quote of Erik's too.
I think it serves you to be uprooted, at least once. As much as you resent that it happened, it makes you stronger that you still hold the pieces of yourself, even if they're broken.
It's one of the first times he's tried to normalize destruction, make her believe that the ground shaking beneath her feet is necessary to enact real change in her life / to finally live it. The essence of the Tower card in tarot.

Also, ugh, St. Vincent? Has a quality to her voice already like Lily's? <3 <3 It's very modest and lovely: the way she'd probably sing, what with her idols in mind.
