Wahhh~~!~!! <3
colored frames

The graphics page is done, the one that has links to all the galleries. I decided the links would be in the form of photos, so I drew frames for all of them, vaguely character/setting themed. There's the palace, Alice's room, Hare's "house" (even if we never see it) and Hatter... I guess. lol The last one I really winged, and I kind of love how it turned out.

You know what makes me the most excited, other than how it really transformed the page? That I worked on these for hours when it was really hot out and I'd been super cranky. It showed me just how motivated I must have been to push through this awful time of year.

I slept with an air conditioner for the first time, tonight, though.

Maybe it's all up from here :O

Let's hope so! :) I just read your last post as well, and it looks fantastic what you're doing for the website!

I know what you mean about the difficulty of working during the summer - I don't know if it's only the heat and humidity, or having had this ridiculous summer cold, but I just have zero energy lately and have to whip myself into getting the simplest things done! For the same reasons, I'm making a concerted effort now to catch up with everybody on LJ...

Thanks! Ugh, so glad to know someone else who feels that way. Even in Oregon, where people should be very used to clouds and rain, many cannot appreciate it and have looked forward to this time of year all... well, year. ;) Cashiers ask me if I'm "enjoying the sun" and I can see I have ruined small-talk just by saying "nope, can't say that I am!" xD Are you an Autumn/Winter person too? I cannot wait. I'm sitting here whiffing my Pumpkin Pie candle and telling myself to hang in there.

Hahahahaa, that's exactly what I do! It's amazing the looks you get when you tell people you hate summer, but my body just plain hates the sun and humidity in every possible way!

I am totally an autumn person; it always amazes me how strangely right the world feels to me, and I feel in myself, at that time of year. I was born then; maybe it's some subconscious memory of the way the air smells? I'll admit the last few autumn/winter cycles have been tougher now I have sinus issues, but I'd still take them over summer every damn time.

Me, I'm updating the heck out of the-october-country obsessively and going, "Okay, just six more weeks till September! Six more weeks...!"

Yessssss, I feel that way too! For me, it's just been associated with a lot of good things, like Halloween and the foods and-- my creativity just spikes during that time. I was actually wondering the other day if it's even possible for a place on Earth to be constantly stuck in Autumn. There are places that are Summer year-round, places that are Winter year-round, and places that are Spring year-round, but...? I think people who don't live in the Pacific Northwest probably think we are living in constant Autumn thanks to the Twilight movies and stuff, but sadly it just isn't the case. XD

Well now I just have to follow that blog! I can't get enough of that on my dash.

I was wondering something similar - at least, whether there's anywhere where the summer temperatures are more comfortable without it being, say, the Arctic Circle! I looked up Finland but even in the non-polar, coastal regions they have about the same number of heatwave days as we do! http://en.ilmatieteenlaitos.fi/seasons-in-finland

Eastern Scotland, though... specially if you went for the lowlands so as not to have quite such sharp extremes of daylight hours... (no, I have not thought about this at all): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_of_Scotland

How hot does it get where you are in summer?
[identity profile] ladybows-fs.livejournal.com on July 18th, 2014 04:23 am (UTC)
It gets as hot as about 100 degrees here. And we actually just got over a heat-wave where it was 90-95 for half the week. Gghghhh I suppose this isn't the worst, but we no longer live somewhere with air conditioning, and the one I bought recently only helps so much. I expect it's going to be potentially this hot until the middle of September. Bleh.

How is it over there?

Oh my god, that sounds like a complete nightmare! Converting to fahrenheit, I basically have trouble with anything above the low 60s, so when we have very mild temperatures most of the year and have suddenly it swings between the low and high 70s...

The most heat I've ever experienced was a few years ago when we were in the Netherlands in June; it got to 88 (31) there, but except for when we arrived it was pretty much dry heat. Same with the one 31 day I can recall here - VERY hot, but very dry. I blame the humidity for half of this. It's about that hot in the south of the UK right now, and they're giving out warnings re: elderly and frail people needing to stay hydrated. Plus people are keeling over on the Tube in London because there's no aircon...

I keep hearing from a lot of people in the US that air conditioning can make or break summer, and I can really see why - I saw someone on Fail Fandom Anon saying they'd moved to the northwest and their place didn't come with aircon as standard (same in homes here - you just wouldn't build it in for the few months when some people might hypothetically want it)...
