Just thought I would share some nonsense. I'm going with light colors this time. I've had a lot of layouts for this story that focus on the imaginative sometimes delusional side of Dorian's POV (i.e. the christmas lights, the chessboard). Now I figured I should present the brightness of the building. Still with colors!

The character section is one of only two parts that have colored tables like that, so the whole thing isn't overly blocky, if you know what I mean.

It's just a ROUGH DRAFT. I haven't even decided what kind of picture I want on top, or drawn it, and that tends to effect the rest of the layout. I've just been doing the content. But I've been thinking of the top picture. And wishhhh...it could look like a movie still. I wouldn't want it to be cartoony or have pixelly lines, it's just I fail at having that kind of talent. If I had it my way, it would be in one of the halls or the bathroom level. If it were in the bathroom, it may be when Kurt finds him in the tub (with his clothes on, you perverts), or when he is sitting on the sink, with his knees against his chest, doing the mirror thing. (My little homage to Edward Scissorhands, his...distant second cousin...in law?) Then maybe I could accompany it with another picture in the same scene. If I feel like it, maybe I'll put the line "Miraa ga utsushidasu maboroshi wo kinishinagara..."-(or for you sad non-nihongo-speakers, "While worrying about the illusion reflected in the mirror") Except probably in English. Japanese would be too distracting, as this story has nothing to do with Japan and it's not its fault that its song counterpart just happened to be written in another language. I'm making my layout plans sound like I'm designing a Livejournal Community banner, here. Well. I would like it to be a tad like one, I guess. But it all comes back down to the fact that I can't do that much realism for shit, let alone realism for a guy that I rip my hair out just trying to draw in simple cartoon style.


Also, and this has very little relevance... I was looking at that birthday picture I did for Dorry and I realized that his head was sliding off to the left. There were also little problems I was having with the face and the shape of the hair, so I went in and fixed it. As much as I would allow myself to. Some things you just couldn't fix without screwing it up; I tried to just make a crease in his eyelid a little darker and suddenly it didn't look like him anymore. It looked like he was stoned or something. Well, here it is now. Better? Can you even tell? I can. It still doesn't look completely like him... It's hard for me to find out how to shade it so his features look sharp enough.
