Yesterday I finally had a superb idea for an illustration, something I have had serious trouble with as far as this story goes. I haven't stressed it much in this journal, but I am deathly in love with Coldplay's "Low" as a second theme song to Wooden Light, so much that in the hypothetical prospect that it were an anime, I would pick this as the opening credits easily. I think it fits in so many ways, the sound and the lyrics...

I am completely hooked on the phrase "you mean more to me than any color I could see", I'm just in love with it being from Kurt to Dorian, and thanks to my friend Raye, am now a spaz for their man-love. More possibilities for scenes pile up and where I am taking this story temporarily doesn't apply because I get to put in a character that I really like and looks after my little boy. It's funny how a once cold SAW fanfiction of how a man inspired a puppet also grew to be about relationships, and how I became sensitized to his own world.

The picture's composition first started with Kurt's looming posture, which signified him in protective mode, with his back on the rain and Dorian beneath him, who doesn't seem to acknowledge his presence. Again, the colors he can see means all of the things that he has that Dorian does not and desires. Eventually in the story, Kurt, who has always fit in and always had friends, starts to see that people really can be cruel, and Dorian is a definite target. That makes him angry. Ultimately, it doesn't matter at all how Dorian views him so perfect, or how he wants to be like him. He is a regular joe, really, but no matter what light you put him in, what is important is beyond that. What's important is that he has stumbled into a massive responsibility. He has grown to love someone that everyone else sees as a walking disaster.

The stylized title was completely by accident. I had no idea how I was going to make an appealing logo, but when I added a layer and used a red brush, I realized the cool effect. Blood, almost.

Also, as you can see, Dorian does not have Billy's signature spiral cheeks here. I am trying to distance this from SAW.

What I am really most happy about is how advertisement/icon/layout friendly this picture is. I have a new banner for my myspace,

I like what I was already working on, but without any images that match the color scheme and no ability for 2 months now to come up with an image, I realized it's best to leave this for the future and try to run with what I've got, which is a poster that I can't stop staring at. XD

Because the site is still down for an indefinite amount of time, I decided what I could do as back-up, so I made a community with this username to post the updates. Come if interested... Wooden Light Community.
