This past week or so has been kind of interesting writing-wise. I have a much easier schedule this term due to a mismatch between things I need for my associate's and those that were available - I only have Sexuality on Tues/Thurs and Public Speaking on Saturdays. I work on Sunday mornings, and my night manager can call me in whenever he needs the help, but I have three days where I can sleep in and do whatever I want until (at least) 3:00, so there has been very sufficient time to get things done.
I'm kind of loving it, actually. By the weekend I felt like there was a point to me being alive during that time. I did He's There ch31, Us Against the World parts 4, 5, and started 6. I finished an AIW music video that's been sitting around a couple weeks, and today I'm starting HT ch32 and coloring a profile picture of Lily that was meant for the site but my scanner was down by the due date.
It's funny (in a sort of "oh Jesus" sort of way) that it's been A YEAR since I became addicted to Adventures in Wonderland and writing the fanfiction is still so important to me. I even have a new plot bunny (SHH). But seriously, Us Against the World has been so much fun to write, in terms of exploring the characters, the situation... it's just turning into pure love, and my friends seem to be enjoying it too. I moved it here because I like the layout, but it hasn't really gotten any outsider attention. Oh well.
Crystal Palace is still kind of down the tube, and I think the problem is that we've lost our inspiration, and I'm trying to think of a way to get it back, because I know the story hasn't gotten less interesting, and it's not heading for a disappointment either. I think we somehow just hit a bad spot, and I might take it upon myself to finish writing the next part alone and put us somewhere we want to work with. Somewhere where it's much clearer how to be funny and flow at the same time.
I haven't gotten a single word from anybody on ff.net about my last chapter of He's There, but it's alive in my system. It's strange to me that I finally have grasp of that point in my plot where things start going in that dangerous direction. I can write that, but at the same time it's a huge responsibility, to myself and readers.
This isn't related, but last night when I was about to lay down, I saw my head and shoulders in the TV screen reflection and I just immediately thought "the Phantom", because it looked like his shape. I don't know if my sweater was riding up and it caused the shoulders to look sharper, or what, but I would shift a little and "he" would move, and it was pleasantly creepy. I fantasize about Movie-Phantom all the time. I really think he will be fascinating physically.
